Something feels off, feels bad or doesn't feel quite right. You may have been feeling this way only for a short while or due to a recent event or perhaps it has felt this way for awhile. You may have tried to figure things out, to make things better on your own but have had limited success.
Now you are here and are seeking help. This is a very difficult thing to do for a variety of reasons and can be a bit frightening. I hope I may be of some help to you.
If you are feeling...
- Down and frequently tired.
- Lonely even in the presence of others.
- Hopeless.
- Like everyone else has it made but you.
- Cut off even when surrounded by others close to you.
- Easily rejected and not getting what you feel you need.
- Suspicious and having difficulty trusting others.
- That you do not know what you think or need while interacting with others.
- Empty or hollow even when it seems like you have a "full" life.
- Stressed and anxious.
- Like you need to turn to food or other substances to calm yourself down.
- That your mind is so busy it never seems to turn off.
How I can help
I specialize in working with recent trauma as well as long standing issues, such as feeling unhappy or sad about life. This may be experienced as having a lack of fulfillment in relationships, a sense of emptiness and that something is missing and constant, relentless worrying. If you are struggling to make things better for yourself but seem unable to make a difference, I can help you identify what may be sabotaging your best efforts to find relief and get what you want. Oftentimes, being unaware of your thoughts and feelings will prevent you from feeling fulfilled and happy. Only when they are less frightening and more tolerable can you become more clear about what contributes to your distress.
Through our work together, your understanding of your inner experiences will increase so that you will begin to feel better. Internal experiences will feel less confusing. As you realize how good it feels for someone to really understand and get what it's like to be you, your anxiety and difficulties will lessen and your capacity to change what you can will start to grow.
