Alison Cabell 408-496-2733
I have been in private practice for more than 25 years and over that time I have had experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, as well as relationship difficulties. Childhood abuse and neglect, which I also treat, can be additional factors in adult issues. I have found that intensive psychotherapy which includes meeting multiple times per week and utilizing in the treatment the developing relationship between the therapist and patient, can help provide long term and lasting benefit. A safe environment for talking and listening is essential for a successful treatment and, with this in mind, I work with each individual to create an approach that addresses their particular needs.
Currently I am a Psy.D. candidate at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California, training to become certified to practice psychoanalysis. I practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy, an in depth therapy that looks at the causes of difficulties and also involves support in managing symptoms. |

Gail D. Carney-Carder 408-296-2926
I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 25 years, working with children and teenagers, adults, couples and families as well as facilitating parenting classes and providing consultation and training to school personnel. Patients whom I see in my private practice are generally referred because of depression/anxiety or because of problems in the areas of: school adjustment, peer relationships, behavioral problems/acting out (refusal to accept/follow limits, rules; excessive anger/aggression; harmful/self-destructive acts such as cutting, eating disorders, drug/alcohol abuse), marital dissatisfaction, breakdown within the family unit. Over the years through working with patients, through my education and on-going training, and most of all, through my own personal therapy, I have come to understand and deeply appreciate that therapy has a profound impact on a person, because it is a relationship between patient and therapist. It is through this relationship that a person grows emotionally, experiences the healing of early psychological wounds, and, in some very significant ways, is able to change debilitating patterns and transform their lives.

Maureen Johnston 408-871-9180
I have been providing therapy to individuals, couples and families of all ages, orientations, and walks of life for over 15 years. People start therapy for a wide variety of reasons, and that for many, it takes a great deal of courage to make the call to set up the first appointment. Therefore, one of my goals is to provide a safe, comfortable environment for my clients. Since it is the relationship that develops between the therapist and the client that promotes healing and growth, I strive to make my clients feel supported and contained as we go through this process together.
Generally, I see my clients for 50-minute sessions, at least once a week, more often if we both agree that would be beneficial. I tend to work from a psychodynamic perspective, with a strong humanistic emphasis. When I see children, their sessions last 45 minutes, and I use a primarily non-directive play therapy model with them. I have a sand tray available, as well as art supplies, puppets, toys, and a dollhouse.
I supervise MFT interns and have been actively involved in the local therapeutic community for many years. Please visit my website at www.maureenjohnston.com. |

Tina St. Lorant 408-236-2070
I specialize in working with long standing issues, such as feeling unhappy or sad about life, having difficulty feeling fulfilled in relationships, having feelings of emptiness that something is missing, and having frequent worries even to the point of turning to food or other substances to calm yourself down. You may be struggling to make things better for yourself but are unable to make a difference. I can help you identify what may be sabotaging your best efforts to find relief and get what you want. Oftentimes, it is being unaware of your thoughts and feelings which prevent you from feeling fulfilled and happy. Through our work together, your understanding of your inner experiences will increase so that you will begin to feel better. You will also realize how good it feels for someone to really understand and get what its like to be you. |

Are you searching for the key to successful relationships?
As human beings, we need each other for support, happiness, and fulfillment. Relationships help define who we are, and all of us would like our relationships to be as successful possible.
However, we each approach relationships from a unique perspective. As partners, employers, friends, co-workers, parents, employees, and children, we need a keychain full of keys to open our relationships to the understanding, love, and success they can provide.
Fortunately, these "keys" are techniques, tools, and skills anyone can learn to better understand our own needs and desires, as well as the needs and desires of others. Once you learn these tools and techniques, you will be able to communicate more effectively and turn your relationship conflicts into deeper connections based on understanding and respect.
This is exactly what the psychotherapy services I offer provide a confidential, safe, and supportive environment in which individuals and couples learn the skills necessary to understand themselves, resolve conflicts, and communicate more effectively in order to live successful and rewarding lives.
All successful relationships are developmental processes. They need attention, understanding, and care if they are to grow and flourish. Over the last 15 years, I've incorporated numerous therapeutic techniques into my work including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most researched and empirically-validated approaches in the field of couples therapy to help countless individuals and couples feel safe and accepted enough to improve their relationships.
I've also been involved with 12-Step programs for over 30 years and have a great deal of expertise helping adults who have grown up in alcoholic or abusive homes. I offer compassionate, non-judgmental therapy to those suffering from anxiety, depression, and fragile self-esteem, as well as for people experiencing the anger and shame brought upon by relapse.
There is hope! Regardless of whether your relationship difficulties have arisen due to workplace issues, illness, loss, anxiety, depression, infidelity, or substance abuse, you can repair the ruptures that have occurred in your relationships and deepen the bonds you experience with those you care about most.
If you believe your life and relationships are worth the effort, I can help you learn the keys to improve them today. I commend you for taking the first step and looking for help.
When you're ready to take the next step, please feel free to contact me for more information or to schedule an appointment. I can be reached by phone, 408-746-0864, or by e-mail, NealeStaub.MFT@comcast.net. I look forward to working with you! |
